For hundreds of years argan oil has been used tradinionaly by the berber people of North Africa to heal and protect the skin from harsh mountain and desert climate. The argan tree grows in incredibly dry desert environment with roots deep in the ground and a life-span of up to 200 years!
Our argan oil comes from the cooperative Mogador in Morocco. The cooperative is located in a small village outside Essaouira and is run by Hasna. Hasna has been working with argan oil for the last 15 years and has shared stage with the Moroccan minister of argiculture during several argan oil conferences.
All we have learned about the quality and importance of argan oil comes from her and we are honored to give back to her cooperative that employes 40 women from the village providing them with decent pay which enables their independence and a chance to send their children to school.
